Privacy Policy

The short version: we do not collect your data. Toffee Tails has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no ads. Your pet's details and photos stay on your phone, and you can delete them any time.

Who we are

This policy explains how Toffee Tails ("the app", "we", "us") handles information. It covers version 1 of the app for iPhone and Android and this website, toffeetails.com.

The short list

No accounts. No backend servers. No analytics. No ads. No crash reporting. No tracking tools of any kind. No location access. No affiliate links. The app collects no personal data about you or your pets, and we do not sell or share any.

Pet data and photos

Everything you add, such as pet profiles, coat colors, photos, reminders, care log entries, weights, vaccine dates, supplies and vet info, is stored only on your device, in the app's local storage. It is used only to show your information back to you inside the app.

It is never uploaded to us. We do not run a server, so there is nowhere for it to go.

Photos you take or pick are copied into the app's storage on your phone. The app asks for camera or photo access only when you choose to add a picture, and you can change that permission any time in your phone's settings.

Reminders

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They do not use push servers, and nothing about them is sent to us. You can turn notifications off in your phone's settings.

Calls and maps

Tap to call opens your phone's dialer with the number you saved, or with the ASPCA Animal Poison Control number. The app does not place or record the call.

The find emergency vet and find groomers buttons open your phone's maps app, such as Apple Maps or Google Maps, with a fixed search. Toffee Tails never asks for location permission and does not read, collect or store your location. Once the maps app opens, it may use your location under its own privacy policy.

Backups, PDFs and sharing

You can export a backup file, and make PDFs like a sitter sheet, vet summary or vaccine record. These are created on your device and go only where you choose to save or share them. You control them. If you save one to a cloud service or send it to someone, that service's privacy policy applies to the copy you shared.

Toffee Tails Plus

The core planner is free for 1 pet. Toffee Tails Plus is an optional subscription that adds unlimited pets, full weight history, care and behavior guides, the find groomers button, a supplies tracker and sitter sheets for more than one pet. The price is shown in the App Store or Google Play before you buy.

Subscriptions are sold only through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your name, email or payment details. Apple or Google handles billing, renewal, refunds and cancellation, and you manage your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. The app checks whether you have an active subscription on your device using Apple's or Google's own tools, and keeps only a small note on your phone saying whether Plus is active. It does not upload your receipt. Apple and Google process purchase information under their own privacy policies.

Guides and emergency info

Care guides, behavior notes and emergency info are built into the app and work offline. Reading them does not send anything to us.

No affiliate links

Version 1 of the app has no gear picks, no Amazon links, no affiliate links and no ads. If we ever add links like these, we will update this policy before they appear in the app.

Deleting your data

Delete a pet in the app to remove its profile, photos, reminders and log from your phone. To remove everything, use Delete all data in Settings, or delete the app. Because we hold no copy, deleting it on your device removes it for good. Backup files and PDFs you exported stay wherever you saved them until you delete them.

Children

Toffee Tails is made for pet owners and is not directed at children under 13. The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Emails you send us

If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply to you and delete it when it is no longer needed. Please do not send health records or other details you do not need to share.

This website

This website has no analytics, no cookies, no tracking scripts, no forms and no third party embeds. Like most web hosts, the server that delivers these pages may keep standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify you.

Store privacy labels

Based on the above, our App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected, and our Google Play Data safety section says no data collected.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the dates at the top before the change takes effect.
